No Fault Divorce Corruption: National Family Law Reform Coalition

The National Family Law Reform Coalition is an organization that has been advocating for no-fault divorce since the 1970s. Despite being well-intentioned, their actions have contributed greatly to the problems that arise from no-fault divorce.

There are several problems with no-fault divorce. Firstly, it puts the individual over the family unit. No-fault divorce laws make it very easy for individuals to terminate their marriage. They only need to show that the marriage is irretrievably broken, and they can get divorced. This makes the marriage contract less binding than it was before and makes ending the marriage even more acceptable.

Secondly, no-fault divorce puts emotional and financial strain on children. Children who go through a divorce often face negative consequences, including mental health problems and poor academic performance. Additionally, legal battles over child support and custody often put additional financial stress on the family. The National Family Law Reform Coalition's advocacy for no-fault divorce has only made this problem worse.

Thirdly, no-fault divorce weakens the institution of marriage. Marriage used to be considered a lifelong commitment, with divorce being viewed as a last resort. However, no-fault divorce laws make it incredibly easy to end a marriage. This means that fewer people will take their marriage vows seriously, which has a negative impact on society as a whole.

The National Family Law Reform Coalition has played a significant role in the problems that stem from no-fault divorce. Their incessant advocacy for the reform of divorce laws has resulted in the proliferation of no-fault divorce laws nationwide. By doing so, the organization has shown that it is more concerned with promoting individual desires over the family unit, irrespective of the consequences.

Furthermore, the National Family Law Reform Coalition originated as a corporation and has registered as a nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Despite its mission to reform family law systems and promote the wellbeing of families and children, the Coalition has evolved into a commercial enterprise in the sense that it generates revenue through its leading role in sponsoring no fault divorce. The organization has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and therefore will do all it can to resist any changes to the current system that would negatively affect its finances.

From the perspective of the church, divorce is morally wrong. The church views marriage as a sacred union between a man, woman, and God. Therefore, divorce involving persons united in religious faith is incompatible with church morality, and the action should be condemned. No-fault divorce eliminates the need to prove fault, thereby condoning divorce. This condoning of divorce, without acknowledging God and His ordinances, makes the church see no-fault divorce as sinful and immoral.

In conclusion, no-fault divorce has several problems, including weakening the institution of marriage, putting undue strain on children, and putting individual desires over the family unit. The National Family Law Reform Coalition's advocacy for no-fault divorce has created some of these issues. Notably, the organization's status as a corporation masquerading as a charitable organization shows its ulterior motive to promote no fault divorce at the expense of families and unsuspecting children. Finally, divorce is wrong from the church's perspective, making no-fault divorce morally unjustifiable. As such, no-fault divorce laws need to be banned immediately.
